IDive is a digital video media management and cataloging application.
It offers longsuffering users of camcorders a digital shoebox for their clips and still images without the associated difficulties of long-winded identification and poor retrieval. It offers powerful view and search functions for both home and semi-professional users.
iDive sits alongside your favourite editing software [Apple iMovie, Final Cut Express/Pro, etc] leaving you free to concentrate on creativity by delivering to your desktop a clear view of everything you have put in your digital video shoebox.
iDive simplifies visualising tapes
Do you enjoy the blindingly fast scrolling and resizing speed of the new iPhoto ? Youll be pleased to know that iDive uses similar techniques to achieve lightning performance when navigating, scrolling, resizing your clip thumbnails.
And you need that !
This is because iDive has been designed to hold ALL your video tapes, whether you have 10, 50, 100 or more, and to cope with thousands of clips being displayed at once.
iDive is very easy to use, and yet provides very powerful and advanced features. It has been designed for Mac OS X and its user interface will not only look familiar, but will integrate seamlessly in your digital hub.
Ever wanted to bridge that gap between your digital videos and your digital photo album ?
iDive lets you export any digital video frame from its Library to any application handling pictures including iPhoto. Its as simple as dragging any frame from iDive to iPhoto.
iDive corrects for non-squared video pixels to guarantee that your video frames look perfect, with the proper aspect ratio. And provided youve assigned a title to the parent clip of that dragged frame, the iPhoto name for your picture will be automatically assigned.
Combating the I know its here somewhere syndrome that has plagued digital video users for years, iDive’s easy to use search interface makes retrieving any video sequence or photo a quick and enjoyable experience
Select a date range on the timeline, and the people, places events of the clips captured during that date range will automatically be highlighted. Similarly, select people, places, events or any combination of them, to highlight the dates for which you have footage
Needless to say that the displayed clips are always the result of your combined selection.
Smart Timeline
iDive’s integrated timeline is a great help too when it comes to tagging. Simply select a date range on the timeline to isolate those clips taken during that date range. Tagging the footage taken during your last ski holidays, or during that wild birthday party has never been so easy. And because iDive supports multiple clip tagging, you can very quickly attach common annotations to a large number of clips.
People, Place, Event
iDive overcomes long-winded data entry thanks to built-in user-definable attributes for People, Places and Events.
From a single palette displaying those key classifications, you enter and save your own characteristics. The People, Places, Events attributes are then assigned to clips by simple drag and drop.
iDive allows you to visualise the contents of entire tapes more quickly than other tools which only show the poster frame of every clip. Through Power Previewing, iDive allows you to drill down through poster frames. Clicking on a poster frame instantly reveals all respective sample previews which belong to that clip.
Tagging is the process which allows you to attach extra descriptive information to your footage and then reuse this information to facilitate retrieval.
There’s more to iDive that we can possibly put on this page.

iDive also lets you copy a clips annotations to easily enter some extra information about your pictures.
